What is Fibre Broadband?

Fibre Broadband is the UK’s superfast broadband connection over fibre optics. FTTC broadband is delivered using fibre optic cable to the local street cabinet and copper wires from the cabinet to your premises. FTTP Fibre Broadband is fibre optics from the exchange all the way through to your premises and offers high-speed data across greater distances for a fast, stable and future-proof connection.

How fast is Fibre Broadband?

Fibre Broadband can transfer voice and data up to 1000Mbps (Megabits per second), but the exact speeds available at your business premise can vary. FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) connection can have a reduced speed due to the connection being Fibre then copper from the cabinet to your premises. FTTP (Fibre to the Premise) is an end-to-end fibre connection with internet speeds available from up to 1000Mbps.

Can I get Fibre Broadband?

Fibre optic high-speed connectivity is available to approximately 10% of the UK, covering 2.5 million properties. We have several connection options available if a fibre path to your premise does not exist. BT announced that they are going to shut down their copper network by 2025.
